Our Story

(2016:  Establishment of One Korean (Korean American Grocers Association of Arkansas). One Korean was founded with the goal of finding ways to support Korean food industry professionals in Arkansas, promoting development, and fostering camaraderie through collaboration).

  • March 2023: Met and had meetings with the Golden Eagle of Arkansas (beer-related).
  • March 2023: Fundraising for the Turkey Earthquake (donated $7,500 in the name of the Arkansas Korean community to the Houston Consulate General).
  • March 2023: Had a meeting with the Little Rock Police Chief (to explore ways to cooperate and establish a Real-Time Crime Center).
  • February 2023: Attended the inauguration ceremony of the Dallas Korean Chamber of Commerce Chairman.
  • January 2023: Visited the Houston Korean Chamber of Commerce and had meetings with executives.
  • January 2023: Met with Consul General Jung Young-ho and executives of the Houston Chamber of Commerce, followed by a dinner at the Consul General’s residence.
  • December 2022: Held the 6th Arkansas-Korea Economic Exchange and Regional Network Night and Scholarship Awards Ceremony.
  • November 2022: Attended the Veterans Day event in Arkansas.
  • October 2022: Attended a meeting between Prime Minister Han, Deok-su and compatriots (Houston).
  • October 2022: Attended the 20th Korean Business Association Conference.
  • August 2022: Visited the Seattle Chamber of Commerce and had a meeting.
  • August 2022: Visited the Choctaw Indian Reservation and had meetings with the chief and officials.
  • July 2022: Attended a commemorative event for the armistice.
  • June 2022: Visited the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce and had a next-generation group meeting.
  • May 2022: Attended the General Assembly of the United Korean Chamber of Commerce in the Americas (including next-generation seminars and meetings).
  • March 2022: Attended the Douglas Company Trade Show.
  • February 2022: Attended the Houston Chamber of Commerce Inauguration Ceremony (beginning of next-generation recruitment) and had a meeting with Vice Chairman Lee Jin-hong, a Korean War veteran.
  • January 2022: Coca-Cola Meeting.
  • December 2021: Held the 5th ONE KOREAN Economic Exchange and Regional Networking Night and Scholarship Award Ceremony. The event was attended by Congressman French Hill, Nate Todd (Director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs), Ms. Jonelle Fulmer (Chairwoman of the Arkansas Republican Party), and other officials. Consul General Lee Han-sang, President Lee, Hyeong-woo, Former President Jung, Na-oh-mi, Former President Im, Gye-soon, and Former President Lee, Yo-seop was also present. A total of 24 students, including families of Korean War veterans and two Korean adoptees, received $1,000 scholarships. Support was also provided to four Korean schools: Arkansas Korean School, Jeja’s Korean School, Sherwood Korean School, and Dasom Korean School.”
  • December 2021: Project Soldier KWV (Project with gratitude and rewards, featuring photos of veterans) took place at the MacArthur Park Museum in Little Rock, where a total of eight veterans and their families residing in the Arkansas Little Rock area participated in a photo shoot.
  • December 2021: Vision Seminar for the Korean community (featuring author Rami Hyun).
  • November 2021: Attended the Veterans Day event in Arkansas.
  • October 2021: Attended the inauguration of the 20th Peace and Unification Advisory Committee in Dallas.
  • October 2021: Met with Douglas Wholesaler’s CEO.
  • October 2021: President Lee Chang-heon received the President’s Award in commemoration of World Korean Day.
  • August 2021: Contracted a new event venue.
  • August 2021: Attended Kagro International Maryland meeting.
  • July 27, 2021: Attended a ceasefire event and distributed Korean War veterans’ albums.
  • June 2021: Sent a Korean War veteran’s commemorative album to North Arkansas through the Korean association president and distributed it to attendees.
  • March 2021: Douglas meeting (scan Data).
  • March 2021: Provided COVID-19 vaccine information to members.
  • February 2021: Attended a meeting with Consul General Ahn, Myeong-soo and delivered masks.
  • February 2021: Attended a dinner hosted by Nate Todd, Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (with Pine Bluff city officials).
  • December 2020 to June 25, 2021: Produced an album for Arkansas Korean War veterans (2021 Arkansas Korean War Veterans Photo Year Book).
  • December 12, 2020: Held the 4th ONE KOREAN Virtual Scholarship Ceremony. Awarded scholarships to 20 local students in Arkansas and supported four Korean language schools.
  • December 2020: Organized an online talent show for exhausted Korean-Americans in Arkansas and awarded prizes to 16 participants (Covid 19).
  • December 2020: Delivered support and well wishes, along with financial assistance, to parents of young students hospitalized.
  • November 11, 2020: Attended Veterans Day and presented Korean-made hand sanitizers and KF94 masks to participants along with the ‘Together, we stand Stronger’ poster. Around 100 people attended the event, including Governor Asa Hutchinson, Congressman French Hill, government officials, and others.
  • November 2020: Delivered and distributed hand sanitizers and KF94 masks sent by the Korean government to Korean War veterans.
  • October 2020: Jointly purchased Korean-made KF94 masks for the Korean community.
  • October 18,2020  the One Korean Association, at the Arkansas Jeja Church Dream Hall, invited financial expert Dr. Jeong Hye-jeong to hold a seminar for parents on college finance strategies and college financial assistance.
  • September 2020: Produced and distributed the ‘Together, we stand Stronger’ poster to Korean businesses.
  • May, 2020
  • Jointly purchased the 2nd batch of 7,390 KF94 masks.
  • Donated 2,000 KF94 masks and 120 sets of protective clothing to UAMS (University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences) on behalf of the Korean community.
  • Donated KF94 masks to Korean War veterans. Delivered KF94 masks to around 50 Korean War veterans by mail or in person (including masks and transportation, costing $1,000.00).
  • March 21, 2020: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, jointly purchased the 1st batch of 6,500 KN95 masks with Arkansas Koreans.
  • December 14, 2019: 3rd One Korean Scholarship Award Ceremony. Provided scholarships to a total of 22 individuals, including direct family of Korean War veterans, and supported three Korean language schools.  Presented the Ambassador for Peace Medal to Korean War veterans.
  • October, 2019: Sponsored Hangul Hanmadang. Sponsored Korean language schools.
  • Attended the 18th Yeosu World Korean Business Association Conference.
  • September 8, 2019: 1st One Korean Golf Outing and Picnic.
  • April 2019: Attended the Cancun General Assembly.
  • March 2019: Attended the 34th Han Sang Operations Committee in Hanoi, Vietnam.
  • January 2019: Elected a president (Lee Chang-heon) during the 3rd regular general assembly.
  • December 8, 2018: Held the 2nd One Korean Scholarship Award Ceremony and year-end party. Provided scholarships to 15 students ($1000 each) and supported three Korean language schools. Presented the Ambassador for Peace Medal to Korean War veterans.
  • October 2018: Attended the 17th World Korean Business Association Conference (Songdo, Incheon).”
  • September 2018: Attended the 59th kagro international Atlanta General Assembly.
  • July 2018: Meeting with Gloria, responsible for the Coors Company’s association sponsorship.
  • June 24, 2018: Vision Seminar for the Korean community.
  • April 2018: Attended the 58th Kagro International General Assembly for four days.
  • December 2017: Scholarship award ceremony. Provided scholarships to 10 students, supported two police stations, and three Korean language schools.
  • October 2017: Attended the Washington D.C. General Assembly.
  • October 2017: Attended the Chang-won World Korean Business Association Conference.
  • April 2017: Attended the Dominican Republic General Assembly.
  • January 2017: Held the second regular general assembly and elected a new president (Lee Chang-heon). Provided support to four Korean language schools within Arkansas as the first scholarship project.
  • September 2016: Attended the 15th Jeju World Korean Business Association Conference.
  • July 2016: Held the first general assembly.
  • June 2016: Signed an MOU with Coca-Cola.
  • April 2016: Joined Kagro International as a member at the New York General Assembly.
  • January 2016: Signed an MOU with Douglas Company.
